Remembering Suwannee: Suwannee Springs

In past articles, I have spoken about the various resort hotels that were once located at Suwannee Springs (also known as Gadsden Springs, Lower Mineral Springs, and Suwannee Sulphur Springs), starting all the way back before the Second Seminole War in the 1830s and 1840s. My friend Lynn Rogers, sharing my love of history, came across the following newspaper article from the Atlanta Constitution from June 24, 1883, which discusses the nearing completion of the first known post-Civil War hotel at Suwannee Springs, and graciously passed it on to me. The article contains details about the hotel that I had not previously known:
