A crowd of Veterans, their families and residents gathered at Live Oak Cemetery to honor fallen Veterans during the American Legion Harry C. Gray II Post 107’s annual Memorial Day ceremony. Held at the Veterans section of the cemetery, the event began with former Post Commander Donald Urwiller leading the parade of colors and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Joy Gieger followed with a heartfelt performance of the Star-Spangled Banner.
Following Gieger’s exceptional performance, Robert DeSantis, chaplain of the Sons of the Legion, led the invocation. “Oh God, of all creation, our debts are remembered here today,” DeSantis said.
