Randy Miller was born in Plant City, Fla., in November 1961. He spent his entire early life there, graduating from Plant City High School in 1979. Miller's original plan for his life was to graduate with his auto mechanic accreditation. His father had grown up around drag racing and spent his whole life racing. Seeing his future in cars, Miller thought he had a plan; however, what man plans isn't necessarily what God plans, and Miller was about to experience that first hand.
In August 1982, Miller found Christ and, suddenly, everything he cared about before was unimportant to him. Instead of focusing on racing, fishing or other things of that nature, he suddenly only had a hunger for the Bible and learning more about God. He first stepped into serving at a church as a Sunday school teacher for adults. For 30 years, he continued to dip his toes in the water, participating in music ministry as well. He moved between many Assembly of God churches, teaching and leading worship and, eventually, began to make his way to North Central Florida. He served at Fellowship Baptist Church in Lake City before making his way to Priscilla Baptist Church.
While at Priscilla, Miller could feel the pull that he was in the wrong place; his wife told him she felt the same. One day, they were driving through Branford when they noticed a church. Miller decided to stop and learn more about the church and, six years later, they haven't left. Living Springs Family Worship Center became the Millers's home church and, roughly one year ago, he was asked to step up as the interim pastor. The church was so happy with his ability in the role they offered to let him continue, as he earned his certification and became the official pastor. He did this, and is happy to remain the pastor at Living Springs.
Miller has been happily married to his wife, Shirley for 30 years. Together, they have four children: three girls and one boy. He is proud of all his children and all they have accomplished; some continuing working in the church, while another joined the military. Miller's favorite verse is Psalms 19:1, which reads, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” His favorite book of the Bible in the New Testament is Luke, and his favorite book in the Old Testament is Exodus. Miller described becoming a pastor by saying, “It's like a whirlwind of amazement - just amazing.”
Living Springs Family Worship Center is located at 26471 SR 247, in Branford. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., and church services begin at 10:30 a.m. They also meet on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
