On property taxes and the price of freedom

On Tuesday, June 2, the Florida Senate approved a House Joint Resolution titled “Save Our Homes from Excessive Property Taxes.” If 60% of voters approve this measure in November, the homestead exemption will increase from the current $50,000 to $150,000 in 2027 and further increase to $250,000 in 2028.
