New Year’s fatality in White Springs

Christian Peterson  Reporter@riverbendnews.org On Saturday, Jan. 1, at approximately 5:05 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to a fatal car accident at the intersection of Mill Street and County Road 135, in White Springs. According to the FHP report, a 34-year-old male was driving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) containing two seven-year-old male passengers, all from White Springs, westbound on Mill Street, heading towards the intersection of County Road 135. At the same time, a 74-year-old male, also from White Springs, was driving a pickup truck southbound on County Road 135, approaching the intersection of Mill Street. The SUV did not stop at the stop sign at the i
