New Bethel AME hosts free summer meal program for area youth

Hailey Waldo Riverbend News As summer break begins, New Bethel AME Church in Jasper is helping make sure local children have access to nutritious meals through its Summer Fill-Up Program. Running now until Friday, July 17, the program offers free breakfast and lunch to all children throughout the summer. The initiative helps bridge the gap for families when school is out and regular school meal programs are unavailable. Breakfast is served daily from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., followed by lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Meals are available at New Bethel AME Church, located at 604 Sixth Ave. S.W., in Jasper.
