The Mayo Woman’s Club has announced that it is hosting its inaugural fundraising event, which will consist of a chili cook-off, silent auction and bingo. The event will be held at the Alton Church of God on Saturday, March 1. The chili cook-off and raffle will begin at 11 a.m., and there will be multiple chili entries. There will be awards for first, second and third place winners, as well as a people’s choice winner. A raffle will also be held, which will include baskets and a 50-50 raffle. The Mayo Woman’s Club requests that entrants wishing to participate in the chili cook-off sign up before Saturday, Feb. 22. The entry fee is $25 and $10 to judge the chili, which also includes a meal. To sign up for the event, use the QR code accompanying this article. Following the chili cook-off, at 2 p.m., the Mayo Woman’s Club will also be hosting bingo. The game will include 15 cards, payouts and bonus games.
