Mayo preparing for patriotic Independence Day Celebration

The community of Mayo is gearing up for a festive event of patriotism, family fun and fireworks as the Mayo Woman’s Club hosts its “250th Independence Day Celebration” on Friday, July 3, at the Edward Perry Sports Complex.
The hometown celebration, themed “A Hometown Salute to Faith, Family and Freedom,” will take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is expected to draw more than 1,500 attendees from across the area. Families can enjoy an evening packed with food vendors, activities for families and an exciting firework show. A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, July 5, if needed.
