LOFD rescues man from tree

A tree trimmer stuck in a tree on Tuesday, Aug. 26, prompted the Live Oak Fire Department (LOFD) to respond to the 200 block of Helvenston Avenue to perform a high-angle rescue.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Kyle Nickerson, at approximately 8:09 p.m., the LOFD responded to the scene, where the man, who was not identified, was located approximately 35 feet in a tree. He had injured his hand while in the tree and was unable to come down safely. With the assistance of several units with Suwannee Fire Rescue, LOFD Rescue 1 and LOFD Ladder 1, first responders were able to help the man out of the tree.
