Living God’s Way: The faith of the Colossians
Even though Paul was in a prison in Rome, he still had heard of the faith of the Colossians in Christ Jesus (Colossians 1:4). Paul's information probably came from Epaphras (1:8), the one who had taught the Colossians "the word of truth, the gospel." Because this very gospel had been delivered to people "in all the world," the Colossians would have the same faith as everyone else.
The first thing we should notice about the faith of the Colossians is that it came about because they heard it, they learned it, and they understood this "grace of God in truth."
