Living God’s Way: The Christian’s hope and inheritance

In Peter’s opening comments, he gave reasons for why our “God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” should be blessed. Peter said the reward for being “born again” was that it would lead to a “living hope,” which would be “an inheritance ... reserved in heaven for you” (1 Peter 1:3, 4).
Peter was not speaking about a dead hope, but a living hope. A hope that is in existence and active. It is not the desire for a positive event based upon the doubt of its occurrence. It is not some fantasy or wishful thinking, but rather a joyful expectation in which we should place our utmost confidence.
