Carlton McPeak Guest Columnist Facing trials because of our faith can seem like a heavy burden. Like the first-century Christians, we need encouragement to endure those difficult times. Peter wrote to encourage the Christians to see that these trials were testing their faith and, if they overcame them, there was a great reward (1 Peter 1:6, 7).
