Living God’s Way: Gospel message produces fruit

Continuing his prayer of thanksgiving to God for the Colossians, Paul turns to the effect the gospel is having both on them and the rest of the world (Colossians 1:6). Equating this gospel with "the grace of God in truth," Paul says it "was constantly bearing fruit and increasing" as these people "heard it and understood [it]."
The Colossians put their faith in this gospel. Paul was made a minister of this gospel, and this gospel had been preached "in all creation under heaven" (1:23).
