Living God’s Way: Authoritative letter to be universally applied
One of the letters Paul wrote while he was in prison was to the church at Colossae. Throughout the letter, Paul focused on the importance of Christ being the center of one’s faith. In his introduction, he established his authority to write this letter and the need for the message to be universally applied (Colossians 1:1, 2).
In many of his epistles, Paul begins by introducing himself as “an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God.” The word “apostle” indicates that Paul was “sent” on a mission or with a message to deliver. Jesus Christ sent him as an “ambassador of the Gospel.”
