Live Oak teenager tragically dies after struck by dump truck

Christian Peterson  reporter.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Monday, June 16, a single-vehicle accident resulted in the death of a 14-year-old Live Oak girl. According to a report filed by the Florida Highway Patrol, at 10:25 a.m., a dump truck driven by a 52-year-old Lake City man was heading south on State Road 51. At the same time, the 14-year-old pedestrian was walking south on the western shoulder of State Road 51. For unknown reasons, the pedestrian entered the southbound lane of State Road 51, causing the right front of the dump truck to strike the pedestrian. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
