On Sunday, July 3, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a 67-year-old Live Oak man was hit and killed at 998 U.S. Hwy 90. According to the report from Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan was traveling east on U.S. Highway 90, just East of County Road 49, when the male pedestrian entered the roadway directly in the path of the sedan. As a result, the front left of the vehicle collided with the pedestrian in the eastbound travel lane. The 67-year-old succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced dead on scene. The accident is still under investigation.
