Live Oak natives build self-esteem with cheer

Now living in Tallahassee, the sisters wanted to give back to young girls in their hometown. With this goal in mind, the Herrings put together the Growth Time Cheer Camp in Live Oak, hoping to help young girls in the area succeed while receiving the support they did not receive when growing up. “When we grew up, we didn’t have access to go out and feel a sense of community supporting us dancing and cheering,” Halle said. “It inspired us to go back home and give the girls something we didn’t have, and it’s just a blessing.
