Live Oak man charged following child abuse investigation

A Live Oak man has been charged with two felony offenses following an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.
According to the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) report, deputies were dispatched to a Live Oak residence at approximately 6:27 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2025, in reference to allegations of juvenile sexual abuse. The report states “initial disclosures indicated” Tyler Nicholas Downs, 30, as the perpetrator.
At approximately 10 a.m. the next day, the victim was interviewed by the University of Florida Child Protection Team, in Gainesville.
