Dogs might be the most popular animal in the world; no matter where someone goes, a dog can be found. Unfortunately, many dogs live on the street. The City of Live Oak Animal Control is working hard to fix that problem. The entity is attempting to keep the streets clean while also finding good, safe homes for the pups that they pick up. That is why the department is hosting an adoption event this Friday.
On Friday, March 28, animal control will be at the Suwannee River Regional Library from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. hosting an adoption event. During the event, adoption fees are being waived. Instead, the department simply asks for donations of items that it needs. Examples of needed supplies include dry dog food, dry puppy food, bleach, laundry soap, dish soap, trash bags, doggy treats and bones.
Mary Taylor, the Live Oak Animal Control officer, has already announced some of the dogs that will be available for adoption. Still, there is a caveat as long as the dog hasn't been adopted before the event. The three dogs already announced are Jay-Jay, a medium-sized black dog; Chester, a small brown dog; and Lady Red, a smaller brown pup. Hopefully, there are some open arms and open homes ready for these pups. The Suwannee River Regional Library is located at 1848 Ohio Ave. S, in Live Oak.
