Dear community,
We have entered a pivotal time in our history.
What we have known and taken for granted is crumbling before our eyes.
We are allowing our relationships on a personal level to be destroyed as we argue with each other with conviction of things we really don’t understand.
In our righteousness neither “side” is backing down.
I humbly ask that you look at how we are bullying each other in this process.
I can hear you say, “they’re the bully’s , not us!”
Yet, no matter how we are going about it, we are trying to force each other to see that we are the ones who are right.
But here we are in this mess together. Destroying a country we call home. Destroying relationships we have valued for, in some cases, our lifetime.
I hope you can see we are being manipulated, by our politicians, by social media, by our news sources and now with AI technology we are more vulnerable than ever in being misled. As we navigate a world where villains are made to look like hero’s and hero’s are made to look like villains.
If you believe steadfastly that your position is the “right” position you are wrong.
The solutions we seek lie somewhere in the middle, and to find those solutions we have to hear one another. When we are so rooted in our rightness, that can’t happen.
So here we are at this critical moment in our history. Will we continue on this path of destruction or will we vow to find another way?
I’m asking each of us, to reach out in kindness to the people that you cared about just yesterday, not to change their minds but to take down the wall and remember what matters most.
I’m asking each of us, to contact our senators and congressmen and advocate for them to stop fighting “across the isle”.
The only way to stop this war is for each of us to do our part… it’s a pivotal moment in our history.
We may not be able to change the world, but we can change ourselves and in changing ourselves we can gentle the world around us.
The choice is yours…
