I want to thank the White Springs Town Council for giving me a longer contract by appointing me as the city manager. It is a pleasure to serve both the council and the residents of this great little town of White Springs.
Since June 2025, I have been grateful for the many positive accomplishments that have benefited our residents. We moved back into Town Hall after being in the trailer for a long time. We have obtained new work equipment for the town crews, and I want to thank every town employee for the job they do to support everyone living in the area and for their dedication to duty. Although we are few in number, we are many in quality, and I hope you, the citizens, recognize this fact. I also want to thank all the citizens who volunteer to assist with town activities, and express appreciation for the positive remarks I receive as I get around various events.
I would like to invite all of you to attend our town council meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. We also need volunteers to join our various committees and would like to invite those qualified and desiring to qualify for the election coming up in April, with qualifying in March 2026. We also have a council vacancy now, which we desire to fill at our Feb. 10 council meeting. If you are qualified and interested, let us know by email tomanager@whitespringsfl.us or via letter to 10363 Bridge St., White Springs, Fla. 32096. Please become part of your government.
We are waiting on the state legislature to approve several grants this year, unless the governor gets out his veto pen. If you have the chance to meet with any of our legislative delegation, Senator Corey Simon or Representative Jason Shoaf, please ask them to support our requests.
I maintain regular office hours, and you do not need an appointment to see me. If I am in the office, please stop in and let's discuss what is good and bad in our small town. I know that dilapidated buildings and unkempt yards are a problem, and I ask you again: go across the street and look to see if you would like to be your neighbor. Let's get our town cleaned up; it is the property owner's responsibility, not the town's. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Again, it is a pleasure to have been appointed permanent town manager, and I will do everything in my power to continue to improve the quality of life for our citizens.
Lee Garner, White Springs Town Manager
