Camp Connexion is a faith-based children's camp organized by the churches of Lafayette County. This annual event is a highlight for the community and provides a wonderful opportunity for children throughout the North Florida area to have fun while learning and growing in the word of God. This year, the camp will take place from June 2 to June 5. The theme is "Survivor," and the theme verse is 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here." Each day of the event will focus on a different topic. Day one will be centered on "Temptation" (Matthew 4:1-11), day two will focus on "Sin" (Roman Road), day three will have lessons on "Faith/Spiritual Maturity" (2 Corinthians 5:7), and day four will cover "God's Perfect Will" (Romans 12:2). This year, there are some changes—some good news and some not-so-good news. The good news is that the camp will be offering a new "Lego Builders" track. However, the less favorable news is that, in an effort to improve the camp, the organizers have made the difficult decision not to include sixth graders this year. "We know many will be impacted by this decision, but most of our churches have sixth graders in their youth groups," Camp Connexion posted on social media. "After 16 years, we believe it's time to allow them to participate in their youth groups and summer camps designed for their age group." Registration for camp opens on Saturday, Feb. 1.
