Lafayette receives million-dollar grant for flooding issues

On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the Lafayette County Board of County Commissioners met for its regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting began with the board approving the minutes from the previous meeting. The board then called for public comment, to which there was no response.
The meeting continued with department head reports. Maintenance Director Marcus Calhoun first requested approval for nine county-owned vehicles to be placed on the surplus list. He explained the vehicles were no longer in use and requested permission to auction them off. The board agreed and approved the request.
