Lafayette FFA celebrates National FFA week

By Jackson Powers and Jaley Mosley Contributors National Future Farmers of America (FFA) week was first celebrated in 1948 in Kansas City, Miss. That year, the number of FFA members nationwide increased by over 20,000. There were so many new members that at the next National FFA convention, a temporary hotel had to be set up in the basement of the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. Since then, National FFA week has been celebrated across the nation in order to promote agricultural education and its importance to the future. Lafayette FFA once again celebrated this tradition with contests and programs throughout the week. Lafayette FFA was thrilled to have so many come out and partici
