Car enthusiasts and community members alike are invited to rev their engines and head to Mayo for the Gears and Goods Car Show, hosted by Lafayette High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter.
The event is open to participants and spectators of all ages, and will take place on Friday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the front lawn of Lafayette Elementary School, located at 811 E. Main St., in Mayo.
Entry fees are $20 per vehicle, with registration available on site. Vendors are also welcome to participate for a $50 fee, which will help Lafayette FBLA members cover national competition expenses. Vendors will be allowed to keep their profits. A 50/50 raffle will also be held during the event.
Vehicles will be judged across several classes, including:
- Classic: Pre-1980 vehicles maintaining factory appearance (no race cars)
- Modern Street: 1981 or newer vehicles maintaining factory style (can be a daily driver)
- Mud Truck: Racing and dual-purpose trucks (no street trucks)
- Project: Any style of vehicle project that is actively being worked on
- Drag/Racing: Any year
Awards will be presented to class winners.
