Lafayette deputy wins FSRMF Safe Driver Challenge

Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Deputy Garris Edwards was announced as the winner of the Florida Sheriff’s Risk Management Fund (FSRMF) Safe Driver Challenge on Thursday, Dec. 18.
According to the FSRMF, the Safe Driver Challenge is designed to raise awareness within sheriff's offices of the grave and potentially fatal consequences of unsafe driving. Created in response to a rise in at-fault, preventable crashes, the initiative focuses on addressing the root causes of these incidents, such as unsafe speeds, distracted driving, tailgating and improper backing.
To be eligible for the Safe Drivers Challenge, deputies from all 67 count
