Lafayette County accident results in fatalities and injuries

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) crash report, at approximately 4:07 p.m., during a period of rain, a sedan driven by a 23-year-old female from Mayo was traveling northbound on US Highway 27, while a 45-year-old LCSO deputy was traveling southbound in his patrol vehicle. For reasons currently being investigated, the sedan lost control and crossed into the southbound lane and into the path of the patrol vehicle.
