Lafayette commissioners cancel second meeting in December

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, the Lafayette County Board of County Commissioners met for its regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting began with the board approving the minutes from the previous meeting. The commissioners then opened the floor for public comment, to which there was no response. The board continued by calling for department head reports.
Maintenance Director Marcus Calhoun reported that the phones for the county’s new phone system were in place and the roll over to the new system was scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Public Works Director Seth Jackson told the board the county will need to dig a new well at the ballfield. He stated
