On Tuesday, July 23, the Lafayette County Board of County Commissioners met for its regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting began with the approval of the minutes, followed by a call for public comment, to which there was one response. Troy Shilman got up to speak, saying that his wife had gone to the county's waste management to close the account for a dumpster they were using. While she was there, the county employee told her that the Shilmans owed $100 in missed payments: one payment from two years ago and another from eight months ago.
