My name is Timothea Scott, and I am honored to be a candidate for Hamilton County School Board Member, District 4.
I was born and raised in White Springs, Florida, where I now live and proudly raise my three children - a 13-year-old son and 7-year-old twin daughters. As a long-term
resident of Hamilton County, I understand the values, traditions, and
priorities that make our community special. Over the years, I have made my own observations, spoken with other parents and teachers, as well as communicated with former and current school board members about how we are to continue making progress in our school system. My motivation is rooted in my deep desire to see that every child has the opportunity to succeed regardless of their circumstances, and I feel one key to this is strengthening instruction and ensuring our educators are always supported. I have unique experiences and skills that I have acquired over the years and I feel now is the time for me to use these skills on the school board to help our school system continue making positive strides.
I graduated as Valedictorian of Hamilton County High School in 2002 before pursuing higher education at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) College of Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Sciences, where I earned my Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with Summa Cum Laude honors in 2008.
Following graduation, I completed additional training at Baptist Health/Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville and earned a Teaching Certificate through the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. I then became a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Clinical Pharmacy Specialist before joining UF Health Shands (Gainesville, Florida) in 2017 as a Pharmacy Coordinator.
In 2022, I was promoted to Assistant Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Services, where I oversee clinical and operational services for transplant, oncology, and cardiovascular subspecialties. I assist in managing over 400 pharmacists and technicians in the department. My responsibilities also include Quality Assurance/Regulatory Services. Throughout my career, I have managed complex operations, participated in budget development, implemented and maintained policies and procedures, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellence in care and regulatory compliance.
These experiences have strengthened my leadership, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to accountability— qualities I believe are essential for effective service on the School Board.
Although I have had opportunities to live and work in other parts of Florida, returning home to Hamilton County has been one of the best decisions I have made for my family. My children have benefited from a school system that is dedicated to providing students with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed. As a parent, I understand both the challenges and the tremendous potential within our schools.
Beyond my professional career, I am committed to serving others. I have served as a volunteer board member for Partnership for Strong Families for two years and have been actively involved in various organizations and committees, a Statewide Sterile Compounding Ad-Hoc Committee. In 2020, I co-founded a nonprofit organization with two of my pharmacy colleagues and a veteran teacher to create a program that allowed for rigorous small group research-based enrichment for students in reading, math, science, and social studies based on their current instructional level. This has given me the opportunity to see firsthand how well students thrive when family, educators, and communities work together closely. We’ve focused on identifying challenges and creating opportunities to support academic success and youth development. This has given me a community-level understanding of challenges faced daily by teachers, students, and parents.
I am seeking the opportunity to serve on the Hamilton County School Board because I believe our students, educators, staff, and families deserve strong leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and a representative who listens. I want to be a voice for our community by ensuring that policies, procedures, and budget decisions reflect the educational values and priorities of the people we serve.
One of my professional passions has been retention, engagement, and workforce development. I understand the importance of supporting and retaining talented employees, fostering positive environments, and creating opportunities for success. These principles are equally important in our schools for staff, students, and families.
I believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. Achieving that goal requires collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. If elected, I will work diligently to support educational excellence, promote responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, and help ensure that every student has access to the resources needed to reach their full potential.
Hamilton County is moving forward, and I am committed to being part of that progress. Together, we can continue building a stronger future for our students, educators, and community.
I respectfully ask for your support and your vote for Hamilton County School Board Member, District 4 on August 18, 2026.
