KJ Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Banquet happening Nov. 23

Jason Futch reporter2.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Saturday, Nov. 23, at 3 p.m., join Kevin Smith and James Bryant as they honor locals who have fought against breast cancer with their 5th annual KJ’s Breast Cancer Awareness Banquet. Smith and Bryant, together known as “KJ,” started the event in 2020 to honor Smith’s father and Bryant’s mother. Smith’s father died of cancer, while Bryant’s mother conquered breast cancer, managing to beat it. Since the first event, which was held at a local barbershop, Smith and Bryant have held the event yearly. Now, having moved to the Coliseum, the annual event hosts between 80 and 100 people.
