Jennings Police Department receives approval for new equipment

The Jennings Police Department (JPD) will soon receive new laptops and printers for its patrol vehicles.
During the regular meeting of the Jennings Town Council on Tuesday, Dec. 2, the agency requested $9,322.64 to purchase three new laptops and thermal printers. According to JPD Lt. Shawn Raggins, the upgrades are needed for the department to comply with upcoming changes to the county’s dispatch equipment.
Lt. Raggins noted the budget for office supplies for the year was $5,000. However, he informed the council the agency collected approximately $6,000 from traffic stops over the past few months, and requested that those funds be used toward
