Hornets take victory in rival game against Buccaneers

Christian Peterson reporter@riverbendnews.org There are a few rivalries between local teams, however, none compare to the one between the Lafayette High School Hornets and the Branford High School Buccaneers. On Friday, Oct. 24, the two teams faced off for their annual “Battle for the Helmet.” Both teams took to the field, hoping to prove themselves dominant over the other for another year. The Hornets broke out to an early lead, taking the first quarter with a score of 14-0. The second quarter followed suit, with the Hornets extending their lead to 28-0.
