Hornets celebrate soccer seniors while battling Bulldogs

Christian Peterson reporter@riverbendnews.org On Thursday, Jan. 8, the Lafayette High School Hornets’ boys and girls soccer teams hosted the Taylor County Bulldogs in two soccer showdowns. While the competition was fierce, the real highlight of the evening was the annual celebration of the team seniors. The girls were the first to step onto the field. Though the competition was tight, the Bulldogs quickly took the lead. Unfortunately for the Hornets, the Bulldogs won the game 4- 0. Spirits were low after the loss, but that quickly changed as the seniors began to head toward the field. On the girls’ team, the seniors were Jean Paz-Garcia, Hallyn Hurst and Ella McAdams.
