Hornet girls look for redemption after 6-1 loss

The Lafayette High School girls' soccer team was the Class 2A District 2 Champions for two consecutive years, but this year, they face new challenges with a different roster. The senior class, including Lyda Plunkett, has graduated. Now, the team looks to sophomore Carra Clark to lead them to their third consecutive district championship.
Their first game of the season was on the road against the Taylor County Bulldogs, who already had a record of 2-0. The Bulldogs were in good form, while the Hornets were struggling to keep up. Though the Hornets scored one goal in the first half, they were still behind at halftime with a score of 3-1.
