Hometown Salute: Heather Murphy

Heather Murphy was born in Orlando, Fla., but currently resides in Madison, Fla. She moved to North Florida 28 years ago. In 2006, Murphy attended North Florida College’s (NFC) law enforcement academy. Now, she is serving at the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for the Florida Department of Corrections, a role she has been in for the past seven years as a detective. Murphy stated that the biggest challenge she has faced in law enforcement is juggling the demand of the career with her role as a mom.
