Hearings open final Hamilton County Commission meeting of the year, tension closes it

The Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners met for its final regular meeting of the year on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the county courthouse. The meeting opened with three public hearings and closed with a debate over who operated the county road department.
The first order of business was a public hearing to grant a special exception to Lorraine Buffington for a commercial kennel facility on agriculturally zoned property. Buffington said she intended to open a temporary boarding facility for small dogs, citing her experience with difficulty finding local boarding services for her dogs.
