The Flanigin family is from Orlando, Fla., however, they found themselves in Live Oak while they were traveling back from Niceville after saying goodbye to Debra Flanigin’s aunt, who is struggling with leukemia. Though Debra’s daughter, Brook, is not typically allowed to take her white plush cat, Snowball, with her in her travels because it is very important to her and there is always a chance it may get lost, Debra allowed Brook to take Snowball with her because it was a long trip with hard goodbyes.
