Hamilton County School Board considers budget

During a special meeting of the Hamilton County School Board on Wednesday, July 22, board members took their first look at the budget for the 2026-27 school year.
April Perez, Director of Business for the District, presented the tentative budget, which totaled $33,570,869.95. The tentative millage rate is set at 5.573 mills. In accordance with state laws, the budget will be advertised, and public meetings will be held before the budget and millage rate are finalized.
Following this discussion, the board approved a comprehensive evidence-based reading plan for the district, along with an organizational chart for the district.
