Hamilton County installs new flag box

Jason Futch reporter2.riverbendnews@gmail.com The Hamilton County Veterans Service building has installed a new drop box specifically to help residents dispose of old, retired U.S. Flags so they can be disposed of properly.  The box was installed to help residents dispose of their flags respectfully rather than throwing them away. According to the U.S. Flag Code, older flags should be disposed of correctly and with respect. Typically, the code requires burning the flag or burying it after it has been folded and placed in a box.
