A 26-year-old man from College Park, Ga., was killed late Monday night, March 17, after being struck by two vehicles on Interstate 75 in Hamilton County.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 10:28 p.m. near the 445-mile marker on the southbound side of the interstate.
The report states the man entered the travel southbound lanes of Interstate 75, where he was struck by a sedan. The impact caused the man to fall onto the roadway, where a second sedan also hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither the drivers nor the passengers in the sedans were reported to have sustained injuries. The occupants of the first vehicle included a 33-year-old male driver, a 38-year-old male passenger, and a 22-year-old female passenger, all from Atlanta, Ga. The second vehicle was driven by a 79-year-old man from Knoxville, Tenn.
