“Those articles you wrote last week were [insert two fire emojis]…really good stuff and well written! Ya might want to do some more of that!”
That little message from a friend came at just the right time.
Encouragement has a way of showing up when we need it most. It pulls us out of the mud and reminds us: What you’re doing matters, so don’t quit now.
We all hit those points where we want to throw in the towel. Parenting gets heavy. Prayers feel unanswered. The job wears us thin. The diagnosis comes back. The bank account runs low. The loneliness creeps in. The “God, are You even there?” moments start whispering louder than we’d like to admit.
But let me say this loud enough for both of us to hear: Keep going. You are growing. Even when it doesn’t feel like it.
Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Some days, doing good looks like staying patient with a child who’s testing every nerve. Some days, it’s dragging yourself to church when your heart feels hollow. Some days, it’s just getting out of bed and choosing not to give up.
It’s okay if you’re tired. Just don’t stop.
God never promised this life would be easy. But He did promise He’d walk through it with us. He never said we wouldn’t feel worn thin, but He did say His power is made perfect in weakness. And friend, if that’s true, then maybe your weakest moment is actually where your greatest growth is happening.
So if no one’s told you lately: What you’re doing matters. Your faithfulness matters. Your kindness matters. That thing you’re quietly carrying and trying to do right? God sees it. Keep going. You’re not alone.
And, hey—thanks, Mr. Mickey. I think I will write some more of that.
