The Greater Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church is preparing for a special day of worship and fellowship as it celebrates its annual Dual Day on Sunday, June 14, honoring the contributions of both men and women in the church.
The theme for this year’s observance is “Men and Women Walking in Grace snd Strength.” The Men’s Day Service will begin at 11 a.m.with Rev. Brandon Colquitt serving as the guest speaker. Deacon Robert Brown will serve as chairman for the program. The church is led by Pastor Rev. Travis George.
The celebration will continue with the Woman’s Day service at 1 p.m. featuring Dr. Jo Ann Houston as the guest speaker. Sis. Dorthy L. Robinson will serve as chairlady, while Sis. Marie Hawkins will serve as co-chair.
Members are encouraged to participate in the special occasion by wearing the designated colors of baby blue and silver accessories. Men have been asked to wear gray suits accented with baby blue accessories. Church members are also invited to contribute deserts for the fellowship activities planned throughout the day.
