Grace Baptist Church AWANA kids “shop” for their family

By Ramsey Sullivan Riverbend News On Wednesday, Dec. 16, to get ready for Christmas, the children and youth in the Grace Baptist Church AWANA were given the opportunity to go "shopping" for Christmas gifts for their family. AWANA, which stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, at Grace Baptist Church in Mayo, was started just before the pandemic took hold of the United States in March 2020. Due to COVID-19, AWANA was unable to meet until September of 2020. When they began meeting again, they opened the AWANA store, where kids were given the opportunity to "shop" for themselves using shares they earned by memorizing scripture, good behavior, dressing in their AWANA uniform and more
