God works in wondrous ways

By Christian Peterson Riverbend News On Wednesday, Sept. 29, 22-year-old Cali Chaillou and her boyfriend, Lathon Hurst, were in a terrible car accident in Live Oak. Hurst escaped with minimal harm, but Chaillou had some more serious problems. She sustained a broken back in all three levels, a cracked chest wall and two fractured ribs. Within 24 hours, doctors told the Chaillou family she would need surgery. They were also warned that this was an extreme case, as the doctors claimed to have seen thousands of patients with the same breaks never walk out of the hospital.
