A new community effort is underway in Suwannee County, focusing on helping those with limited access to hygiene products. This latest initiative focuses on providing free showers to those in need, allowing the homeless and less fortunate a chance to clean up at no cost.
The showers will be located at Suwannee Health and Wellness every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. "This is not an open door policy to access the gym; a membership is required to work out," Suwannee Showers posted on Facebook. "There will be a sign-in table on the side of the building with volunteers to assist in facilitating and organizing as the showers are being taken. All hygiene products, towels, washcloths and clothes will be provided."
The grace doesn't stop there; in addition to the free showers, prayer warriors will also be present. The warriors are ready and willing to pray for whoever and whatever needs it. Donations are also accepted and can be dropped off at the gym or paid through CashApp using the handle $SuwanneeShowers. For more information or to arrange a donation drop off, reach out to (386) 406-4082 or email leneanewby18@gmail.com. Suwannee Health and Wellness is located at 405 11th St. SW, in Live Oak.
