In places like Suwannee, Hamilton and Lafayette Counties, trees are more than a part of the scenery, they help us in our daily life. From the towering pines that protect crops, homes and livestock to the towering Cypresses that filter our wetlands, trees play an important role in sustaining both the land and the people who depend on it. That is why Florida Arbor Day holds special meaning for communities across Florida, and especially for small, agricultural-driven towns like Madison.
