The Suwannee County Sheriff's Office Division of Emergency Management is reminding residents that the last day to place storm debris at the curb for pickup is Saturday, Nov. 23. The final pass for debris collection will commence on Sunday, Nov. 24. Only storm-related debris will be collected; land-clearing debris will not be included. Residents are asked to sort debris into the following categories to help pickup crews' cleanup efforts:
- Electronics: This includes items such as televisions, computers and phones.
- Large Appliances: Examples include refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves and dishwashers.
- Hazardous Waste: Items such as oil, batteries, pesticides, paint and cleaning supplies should be separated.
- Vegetative Debris: Tree branches, leaves and plant material fall under this category.
- Construction Debris: This includes building materials, carpeting, furniture and mattresses.
- Household Garbage: Regular trash like food waste, paper and boxes should not be mixed with hurricane debris and will be collected using the usual pickup methods.
