Erma Lee McDaniel, age 91, of Jasper, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020 just one day shy of her 92nd birthday.
Erma was born in Oak Hill, Fla., on Aug. 13, 1928 to the late Lee Andrew and Margaret Hagan McCall. She had several brothers and sisters who preceded her in death. Erma was one of God’s Army of good people. She worked professionally as a home health nurse caring for so many. Additionally, she served her community by helping others less fortunate, often taking in sewing and preparing food for families that might otherwise have to do without, even when it meant her own family may have to give up some of their share. She was a Godly mother, a wonderful sister, and is fondly remembered as a beloved Grandma and Boo Boo. In addition to her own children, she and her husband, Rufus, at one time or another put a roof over the heads of at least 23 other young people. She was predeceased by her husband, Rufus McDaniel. Erma was a longtime member of the Jennings Church of God.
Survivors include her son, Randy (Ann Goolsby) McDaniel of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; her four daughters: Patricia Smith (Dennis) and Anita Stubbs both of Jasper, Fla., Donna Stubbs (Larry), Ft. Pierce, Fla. and Joyce Mickler Ross of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; her last living sibling, sister Jeanette Waters (W.P.) of Virginia; 10 grandsons, five granddaughters, 28 great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 15, in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, Fla.
Interment followed at Prospect Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
