A domestic violence incident led to the arrest of a Lake City man after he allegedly attacked a woman and her mother during an argument; part of the incident was heard by emergency dispatchers.
According to the arrest report, on Monday, May 19, at approximately 3:01 a.m., Suwannee County Sheriff's Office Deputy Savannah Agapito responded to a 911 call by an unknown individual. During the call, dispatchers could hear a female and male yelling at each other, with the female yelling, "Get off of me."
When Deputy Agapito arrived at the residence, located at the Wayne Frier Mobile Home Park, the victim walked out of the trailer, covering her busted lip with a white towel. Her upper lip had several lacerations and was visibly swollen with fresh blood coming from the wounds on her lip. The victim said that 21-year-old Lachuan Paul White had punched her in the mouth with a closed fist. The victim further stated that this was not the first time he had assaulted her, and showed Deputy Agapito a photo of her bruised arm from an alleged prior encounter with White.
The victim's mother also spoke to Deputy Agapito, stating she had heard her daughter and White yelling at each other. When she came to see what was going on, she saw her daughter holding a white towel to her lip to keep from bleeding all over the place. The mother confronted White, and they got into a shouting match. She asked if he had hit her daughter, which he confirmed he did and started bowing up at her and punching her in the face.
After White punched the victim's mother, she grabbed a belt and started hitting him with it to keep him from causing her further harm. He then continued yelling at the victim’s mother, pushing her up against the kitchen sink. During the altercation, she grabbed a knife from the kitchen counter and threw it down the hallway when White walked away.
During the interview, the victim's mother showed her the belt she used to attack White. The knife she grabbed from the kitchen was located in White's bedroom. The victim’s niece was also a witness to the incident while on Facetime with her.
Later, during an interview with another deputy, the victim said White struck her in the mouth because she asked him why he was up so late. She also said she did not want White to go to jail for the incident. White was noted as having injuries to his hands.
White was arrested and charged with domestic violence and booked at the Suwannee County Jail, where he is being held on domestic violence and probation and parole holds.
